We NEED Semi Bird as our school board president!!

The election has come and gone and the parents have spoken. The last two school years have proven what a disaster the current board is, and specifically their leadership. Parents are tired of their children's interest being squandered to benefit the teachers union and the WSSDA. The current board president Rick Jansons is also the president of the WSSDA, an organization connected to the NSBA who sent out a letter referring to parents as "domestic terrorists". These groups should not have influence in the boards decisions. Rick Jansons represents Olympia and the school district. Parents deserve a voice for their children and the current leadership simply will not allow it. While we thank Mr Jansons' for his service- the time has come and our district needs new leadership. Our district needs a professional with no ulterior motives other than the well being of children in the district. We are so privilaged to have Semi Bird on our board,  parents are calling for action and claim it would be a waste not to have Semi as the president of the board. The board itself elects its own president, this petition is to show the board what the people want. The board is made up of elected members who are put in place to represent the people, the parents, the children. The board works for us, all of their power is inherent in the people. Let us come together to sign this petition to get the board back on track.
