SHUT DOWN PUPPY MILLS - IMPROVE B.C'S ANIMAL CRUELTY LAWS

The Issue

On Feb. 4th, 2016, the BC SPCA seized 66 dogs from a puppy mill in Langley B.C. 32 adult dogs and 34 puppies were kept in crates, their fur matted with their own urine and feces. Dogs were found with serious health and psychological problems including broken legs, missing ears and eyes, infections and abscesses. They were malnourished, and had overgrown nails. NO animal should be made to endure these kind of conditions!
The first complaint about these breeders was made in 2007! Why did it take NINE YEARS to stop them from abusing animals so horribly? Because before the BC SPCA can't just go onto anyone's property and inspect for any animal abuse, they must give the property owner 24 hours notice. That's right, they must give them 24 hours notice. Can you imagine if the RCMP had to give 24 hours notice before responding to a domestic abuse complaint? THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!
Yesterday, another seizure was made of 69 cats and 15 dogs. Two cats were so ill they needed to be put down! I don't know about you, but I am horrified that this is happening in our province when a relatively simple fix is available.
Tell your MLA to help CHANGE THE LAW.
Give the SPCA investigators the authority and power they need to investigate PROMPTLY and intervene PROMPTLY into allegations of animal cruelty! Don't make another animal wait 24 hours OR 9 years for our help!
Tell our provincial government to CHANGE THE LAW!
