Release Joni Mitchell's Post 1988 Discography on Vinyl

Release Joni Mitchell's Post 1988 Discography on Vinyl
The Issue
Joni Mitchell is a world renowned singer, songwriter, painter, and composer. She has made strides that has lifted her far beyond the realms of folk music, including pop, rock, electronic, country, and more importantly, jazz. Her albums such as, Blue, Court and Spark, and Hejira have been considered some of the greatest albums of all-time by publications such as NPR and Rolling Stone. All of her albums are incredibly made and all of them have their own charm and wit that add multiple dimensions to Mitchell's canon. In addition, she herself has been called one of the greatest artists of the latter half of the 20th Century, influencing generation after generation of singer/songwriters that have come after her. Because of these accomplishments, Mitchell has a very large fanbase of fans, new and old.
As most know, the vinyl resurgence has grown in stature over the years. According to Digital Music News, new record sales are expected to reach 10.2 million units this year, and that number could be significantly larger due to the impossible nature of counting used records.
Many of Mitchell's albums are readily available on vinyl. Including some of her most popular albums from the 1960's and 1970's. However, Joni Mitchell's discography suffers from a large gap beginning in 1991, with the release of her album, Night Ride Home. While it was released on vinyl, however, it was only released to Europe in limited quantities. And used copies are beginning to become scarce. Also, due to the nature of CD sales back in the early 1990's, vinyl records were losing favor with most consumers during this period on up to the new millennium. Which resulted in Mitchell's preceding albums, Turbulent Indigo, Taming the Tiger, Both Sides Now, Travelogue, and Shine all without a vinyl release.
With the recent vinyl release of Joni's 2014 boxset, Love Has Many Faces, by Rhino Records, fans are eagerly awaiting for the label to release even more Joni Mitchell material that has since been unheard of on vinyl. With Mitchell's recent 75th birthday, fascination for her discography will surely resurge within the preceding months. Thus, it's only appropriate that Mitchell's 1990's and 2000's albums get the vinyl treatment they so rightfully deserve.
We're calling on Joni's record labels, Rhino, Warner Bros., Geffen, and Reprise to release the following albums on vinyl sometime within the next year to two years:
- Night Ride Home (1991)
- Turbulent Indigo (1994)
- Taming the Tiger (1998)
- Both Sides Now (2000)
- Travelogue (2002)
- Shine (2007)
This would make many fans happy and would make her discography on vinyl complete and they would also look beautiful in any Joni Mitchell fans' vinyl collection.
