Revoke the New Ordinance Limiting Vehicle Parking on Private Property in Laureldale
The Issue
I am a resident of Laureldale, PA, standing up against a new ordinance that is directly affecting our rights as homeowners. The law, which tickets people for parking vehicles on their own property, has caused significant inconvenience and financial stress on us. Not only is this ordinance unjust, but it is essentially a way to extract money from hardworking homeowners - a clear violation of our rights. Laureldale is not a Home Owner's Association (HOA), there is no regulation which should be dictating where we park on our property.
In addition to this, our police department, led by a chief who left his previous position amidst controversy, is in charge of enforcing this ordinance. Alarmingly, people have raised concerns about his previous actions, including an allegation of him suing his old department for personal reasons. It is also worth mentioning that the State Police has stopped patrolling in Laureldale, which impacts overall law enforcement and therefore our safety.
Considering all these facts, the new ordinance must be revisited and revoked if necessary. We cannot sit back while homeowners are continually penalized and our community's peace is hampered. We urge the Laureldale Council to pay heed to this plea from its citizens who wish for nothing but a peaceful and fair living environment. Sign this petition to help us restore our rights and ensure that Laureldale stands against unfairness and discrimination.
