Revoke the License of RSM Camp Sunapee for Child Endangerment Practices

The Issue

It burns in our hearts deeply as we raise this issue, because it involves a family member who was subject to an ill-practiced routine at Camp Sunapee, owned by Ms. Rifkin. It's called 'dunking,' a risky game where children are randomly grabbed by their hands and arms and thrown into the water without their consent. Worse, this practice doesn't take into account if the child can swim or not, posing a grave risk to their safety.

A camp should always uphold an environment of safety and fun under responsible adult supervision not involving any harmful activities. Sadly, this seems not to be the case in Camp Sunapee. The statistics for water-related injuries among children show that nonfatal drowning injuries can cause severe brain damage that may result in long-term disabilities (CDC). This indicates the dire extent danger posed by such unwarranted, irrationally fun games at the behest of the inexperienced young campers, endangering them to the risk of injury, and even death.

While our focus is to ensure this doesn't happen to any other child, it deeply engulfs us as a chilling incident had befallen a family member at the camp. The proprietor of the camp, Ms. Rifkin, should not be allowed to endorse such careless practices that jeopradise the safety and well-being of children. We, therefore, demand the immediate revoking of the camp license bestowed to Ms. Rifkin, and the closure of RSM Camp Sunapee, to enable the instilment of necessary safe-guard measures that ensure the safety of our children first.

This is a scheme to protect our children from any potential harm that destructive practices like ‘dunking’ can cause. The safety of our children should always be the top priority. Please sign this petition and help us in ceasing such activity from ever happening.
