Revoke the FDA ban on NMN dietary supplements

The Issue

Recently the FDA banned a popular over-the-counter dietary supplement "Beta-nicotinamide mononucleotide" (frequently referred to as simply "NMN"), a compound that repairs and protects DNA and mitochondria in the body and has been widely used for it's anti-aging properties, because it was now "under investigation as a new drug" by pharmaceutical companies.

It is absolutely outrageous that they would ban the sale of an cheap and widely available food supplement so that pharmaceutical companies can turn it into an overpriced prescription. The role of the FDA is not to prop up the profits of pharmaceutical companies.

The FDA should overturn this ruling immediately, and/or the appropriate laws should be adjusted to prevent this type of abuse in the future.
