Special Forces soldiers are held to a higher standard and the ARSOF Core Attributes are used as a benchmark in the selection of all special operations soldiers. The Core Attributes include integrity, courage, perseverance, personal responsibility, professionalism, adaptability, team player, and capability. It is clear that General (R) Mark Milley has fundamentally violated the values expected of Special Forces members, specifically his conduct that was inconsistent with the integrity, professionalism, and conduct of an SF Soldier, and his Special Forces tab should be revoked effective immediately.

This petition is to show just how many former and active Special Forces soldiers, Active Duty Service Members, Veterans, and American citizens believe that what General (R) Mark Milley did was treason. Milley secretly called his Chinese counterpart, General Li Zuocheng of the People's Liberation Army on Oct. 30, 2020, four days before the election, and again on Jan. 8, 2021 and promised to warn of any future attacks, as well as to discuss unknown military plans.

Treason is defined in Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution: Treason consists of levying war against the United States and Adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

What Milley did is treason for multiple reasons:

1) Unauthorized communication - The unauthorized contact with a foreign military leader without explicit authorization is without a doubt an act of treason.

2) Subverting civilian control - Milley's actions undermined the principle of civilian control over the military, a cornerstone of American democracy.

3) Compromising national security - By reaching out to a top Chinese military leader and promising to warn China of potential attacks, Milley compromised U.S. strategic capabilities and decision-making processes. 

Because of Joe Biden's pardon, Mark Milley will never face true justice for these heinous acts of betrayal, but he can and should lose his Special Forces tab at the very least.
