The Issue

Healthcare professionals are trusted to care for all people, regardless of their background, beliefs, or political views. That trust is broken when a physician uses a public platform to show cruelty toward disaster victims.

Dr. Christina Propst, MD, a Texas pediatrician, was reportedly fired after publicly stating that flood victims “got what they voted for,” a reference to their support for former President Trump. These remarks, made during a time of families' grief for a lost child, crisis, and devastation, display a disturbing lack of empathy and a clear breach of medical ethics.

No licensed healthcare professional should ever use political beliefs to justify harm, judgment, or denial of compassion — especially in times of tragedy.

We, the undersigned, call on the Texas Medical Board and relevant National Licensing Authorities to:

  • Launch an immediate ethics review
Suspend Dr. Propst’s license pending investigation
Revoke her license if found in violation of professional standards.

There is no place for political retaliation or discrimination in medicine.

The USA's patients deserve better!
