Revive the Hall of Fame Village Vision — Canton Deserves Better

Revive the Hall of Fame Village Vision — Canton Deserves Better
The Issue
Canton, Ohio is more than the birthplace of football — it’s a city full of heart, history, and people who believed in a dream that has been slowly sold off in pieces.
The Hall of Fame Village was never supposed to become a cautionary tale. Or a financial maneuver disguised as a development project. It was built on the dream of Tom Benson, who wanted to honor the sport he loved and the town that raised it. But over time, that dream has been chipped away — through broken promises, public debt, and the quiet transfer of public assets into private hands.
Now, major pieces of the Village — including the ForeverLawn Sports Complex and Center for Performance — are owned by investment groups led by Josh Harris and David Blitzer.
We are asking you, as new stewards of this sacred space, to meet with a local advocate — someone who worked within Hall of Fame Village, fought for its survival, and created a bold and actionable Revival Plan rooted in truth, community, and financial sustainability.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about redemption.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about purpose.
And this isn’t just about football. It’s about Canton’s future.
We, the undersigned, urge you to:
Review the Revival Plan submitted by Stacey Horning
Engage in open dialogue with community members
Recommit to a vision that serves both the investors and the people of Canton
We’re still here.
We still believe.
And we’re ready to rebuild — together.
