Revitalize Tigertail Beach Park for Locals and Tourists Alike

The Issue

As Collier County residents, I'm sure many of us have cherished memories of trips to Tigertail Beach Park. This wonderful park, with its white sand beach, and bountiful opportunities for bird watching, shelling, and tidal pool exploration, was once a popular spot for both tourists and locals. The picturesque views of breath-taking sunsets added to the appeal. However, these days, the scene is far from the vibrant one we once had.

Over time, the county and city have neglected this stunning place, a site that was once an emblem of Marco Island’s stunning natural landscape. The once bustling cafeteria and bathroom facilities now sit vacant. The park has been left in a state of disrepair, marred by the lack of investment by the county. The playground and other facilities, which once painted the picture of a perfect family day, today stand as reminders of what once was.

However, there is hope. The existing infrastructure is still present, and with a bit of attention and investment, we believe this beautiful park can be restored to its former glory. From research, a compelling fact is that outdoor spaces such as parks have the potential to boost tourism by 40% and local revenue by 30% (American Recreation and Parks Association). Clearly, investing in Tigertail Beach Park is not only a means to preserve our cherished memories and facilitate family-friendly activities but is also economically beneficial for Marco Island.

Let's not forget the joy that this beach park once brought to our community and visitors. We call upon the county and city officials to consider the importance of the beach park to us, its economic contributions, and how the revival of the park will inevitably enhance tourism and community spirit. It's time to bring back our beach park. That's why we need your support. Join us in our fight and show your support for this cause. Please sign this petition and help us revitalize Tigertail Beach Park.
