Revise the Riverside Link Plan for the Emerald Trail Project
Revise the Riverside Link Plan for the Emerald Trail Project
The Issue
We are a close-knit community of residents living along Gilmore St. and Ernest St., our homes backing directly onto the projected Riverside link of the Emerald Trail, threatening the peace and tranquility we enjoy in our backyards.
The current proposal for the Riverside link has sparked concerns about our safety, lighting problems, mishandled trash, and rampant graffiti that could result from the project. Additionally, the issues of drainage, noise pollution, and the potential loss of precious green space and canopy cover are also troubling.
Our attempts at dialogue with Groundwork Jacksonville, expressing these concerns, have so far yielded unsatisfactory responses. This is especially disquieting considering the impact such a major project could have on our lives.
Sign this petition to join us in urging Groundwork Jacksonville to move the Emerald Trail path OUT of the alleyway between Gilmore Street and Ernest Street and onto one of the adjacent streets (Gilmore Street or Roselle Street) where it is visible, easily accessible, and safer for everyone.
