Review visa refusal for Jamaican family visit

Review visa refusal for Jamaican family visit
The Issue
In 2023, my sister applied for a visa to visit the UK from Jamaica to be with our poor grandmother. Tragically, her application was refused. On top of this heartache, our beloved Nana passed away last month, and the funeral is set for the end of March. Without the ability to say her goodbyes in person while Nana was alive, my sister deserves the chance to attend the funeral and find closure with our family.
My sister submitted a second visa application in hopes of paying her respects and yet, this too was unjustly refused. We are devastated. Denying her the opportunity to reunite with us in this time of mourning feels unfair, especially when she will be financially supported during her stay and plans to return to Jamaica at the beginning of April.
Our family has faced a similar heartache before; our Dad passed away in 2012, and due to circumstances, she was unable to attend his funeral. We cannot bear the thought that she would miss another significant family farewell. Being present at our Nana's funeral is not just attending a ceremony; it is healing and connecting as a family, and honoring a cherished family member.
We urgently appeal to the authorities to reconsider this visa refusal. Family is essential, especially in times of grief, and my sister's presence is integral to our healing process. Please sign this petition to help us ensure my sister can make the journey to join her family and bid farewell to our Nana.
