Revert back to our previous grading system
Revert back to our previous grading system
The Issue
The recent change in our grading system has predominantly proved harmful. These changes have not only added an undue burden to our teachers, but they have also created unnecessary stress among our students.
Teachers, who are already managing a substantial workload, now face increased pressure to maintain motivation and ensure grading accuracy under this new system. It is not fair, nor is it sustainable, to expect them to shoulder this additional responsibility.
Furthermore, the current grading system fails to acknowledge the diverse talents and skills that students possess. By focusing heavily on one type of activity or assignment, we risk diminishing their overall academic progression. This can impact students’ morale and potential, disregarding the unique strengths that many students typically thrive on.
We strive for a more balanced approach that values teacher efficiency and student well-being. We ask our school board and education administrators to revert back to the previous grading system. By doing so, we can alleviate unnecessary stress and ensure a supportive environment that celebrates all forms of student achievement.
Sign this petition to urge our education decision-makers to take action and prioritize the needs of our educators and students.
