The Issue

In a move that has shocked advocates for freedom and justice globally, the Kuwaiti government has revoked the citizenship of Sheikh Tareq al-Suwaidan, along with several members of his family, without offering any valid reasons for such drastic measures. Sheikh Tareq al-Suwaidan is internationally recognised for his courageous support for Palestinian human rights and an unwavering commitment to justice.

Revoking citizenship is a severe infringement on human rights and freedom. This silent crackdown on dissenting voices sets a dangerous precedent not only in Kuwait but also in countries observing these actions. Citizenship is the fundamental right of every human being, and stripping it without due cause or process undermines the very essence of justice.

In these troubling times, it is imperative that the international community, including the supporters of justice in Malaysia, rally together in solidarity with Sheikh Tareq al-Suwaidan. Kuwait must reverse this decision immediately and reinstate his and his family's citizenship. Failing to do so echoes complicity in silencing the voices of advocacy and reform.

We urge the Malaysian government, known for its commitment to justice and humanitarian values, to intervene on behalf of Sheikh Tareq al-Suwaidan. Should Kuwait fail to reinstate his citizenship, Malaysia can stand as a beacon of hope by offering him and his family immediate refuge and citizenship. Such an act will reinforce Malaysia's position as a defender of human rights and a steadfast ally to those who stand for justice worldwide.

Every voice counts in this fight for justice. By signing this petition, you're urging governments to uphold human rights and reject arbitrary state actions that aim to stifle advocacy and dissent. Sign now to demand justice for Sheikh Tareq al-Suwaidan and his family.
