Equitable treatment & Employment for Linda Jordan
The Issue
There is an injustice going in SFUSD and the Black community. One of our Leaders Of the AA community of San Francisco Bay Area Linda Jordan has been humiliated, treated unfairly, traumatized and left unsupported . She was laid off on her Birthday without the ability to finish the calendar year nor prior knowledge her position was comprised (no accountability). No other SFUSD staff has been treated that way. The position she held was with AAALI and authorized her to work with all African Americans students and families toward a successful future, resources etc. Her position also allowed her to present research of problems in sfusd systems, solutions and progress of AA students and families at The SFUSD Supervisor Board meetings. Linda Jordan has been an SFUSD Employee since 2005 without credit or acknowledgment of her work & work she did with others. She has never had any reports of misconduct. She has helped many students and families with advocating, graduating, college, jobs, internship, housing, interventions, Etc. She holds honorary positions as Member of the SFNAACP & SF juvenile probation commission. She has helped get Major funding, founded and assist starting many programs, organizations and Events. Star Rising, Black Graduation, SFABSE, AAPAC, Black and Brown meetings/committees and much more that can’t be described on this petition. After months of unemployment ,confusion, stress, neglect and no support she finally gained employment. She is Grateful for the position because of Great supporting staff and ability to work with AA Students and families again. Only problem is it’s lower wages and restrictive. This petition is for Linda Jordan to be offered a promotion. Program Manager of African American Student Success and Wellness ( Manager 1) something equivalent or higher. We must end the cycle of unethical treatment of Black SFUSD Staff, students, families etc. This would be a Great impact for the Black community and school district. She should be welcome back on the leadership board not because of entitlement she earned it. Its her human right to not be bullied and treated without malice. It’s time for change and the time is now. Let’s do what’s Right and help Linda Jordan sign the petition.
