On Oct 16, 2021, members of Patriot Front recorded themselves destroying the Respect and Love Olympia Mural on 4th Avenue, defacing the words with a message of hate and white supremacy.

This mural was created years ago in response to hate crimes happening often in front of the gay bar, Jake's, and served to remind the community what we Respect and Love in Olympia, Wa.

Community members came together to fix the mural the next day, but due to the spineless neolibs running Olympia, the mural was taken down immediately taken to "storage". Effectively letting the Nazis know they'd won.

On July 11th 2022, several of the same fascists that defaced the mural were arrested in Couer D'Alene, Idaho, for planning to attack a Pride Festival in the back of a UHaul.

Those who did this have names and addresses.

We ask the city to actually do it's job in protecting Olympia and charge the following men with Hate Crimes related to the destruction of this mural, alongside the Black Lives Matter murals created by local artist, Robert Upham, in the 2020 Uprisings.

We also demand the return of the mural to its original placing. If the owners of the mural refuse to negotiate in good faith we call on the City to commission a new one, and place it in the heart of downtown.

There is no excuse for it being removed, taking away a sign of resistance. The building it adorned stands abandoned, and should be used for public housing.

We Respect and Love Olympia... enough to take a stand against fascists that would terrorize our people. We know the city does not but we ask them to try to prove they too Respect and Love Olympia.
