Return Taylor Road Synagogue to Its Congregation: A Plea for Justice

Return Taylor Road Synagogue to Its Congregation: A Plea for Justice
The Issue
We, the undersigned, kindly request the office of the Attorney General of the State of Ohio to take immediate action and return Taylor Road Synagogue to its congregation.
Taylor Road Synagogue's congregation encompasses 120 years of existence. Our Synagogue has been located in the Stadium Square Historic District in Cleveland Heights at 1970 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio for the last 82 years.
Our Synagogue is a beautiful historic building built and paid for from the hard work and meager earnings of Holocaust survivors and new hard working immigrants in order to provide hope, inspire future generations, and serve as a holy Monument for the Six Million Jews that were murdered during the Holocaust. In addition, there are more than 1,600 individual memorial plaques of departed members and their families housed in the sanctuary.
For the last 120 years, uninterruptedly Taylor Road Synagogue has had 4 daily religious prayers services for most days during the year.
Taylor Road Synagogue has an in-house Kollel, an Institute of advanced study where 14 to 20 Rabbis study full-time Talmud and rabbinic literature.
The Synagogue provides respite (an interval of rest or relief) and meals for the needy.
We have CRC summer camp of 220 boys from 1st to 7th grade and 40 support staff; 12 rabbis for morning learning, 22 counselors and 6 leaders.
Gymnastics for Girls
Parkour for Boys
Weddings, Bar Mitzvah and community events
The last 15 years have been extremely difficult since we were defrauded, and as a result, have been assessed unknowingly by Cuyahoga County with 7.1 million dollars in real estate taxes.
The city of Cleveland Heights and Cuyahoga County have forfeited the Synagogue to the State of Ohio instead of returning the Synagogue to the congregation. They intend to take away our synagogue and give it free to WXZ Development, a developer who intends to make a profit on the back of the hard work and meager earnings of Holocaust Survivors and immigrants, and use our Holy Sanctuary for events that would defame the Holiness of our Sanctuary and the memory of the departed. This cannot be allowed to happen, chas v'shalom! (G-d forbid!)
The city of Cleveland Heights and Cuyahoga County plan to leave the congregation stranded without a Synagogue to hold services and the Cleveland Heights Jewish Community without the one and only Synagogue that could accommodate a large audience.
During the time of COVID19, Taylor Road Synagogue was the only synagogue in Cleveland Heights with a sanctuary large enough to accommodate prayer services with congregants spaced adequately from each other.
This uncertainty for the last 15 years caused tremendous financial hardship and damage to the congregation. It caused our membership to split and new members were leery to join a congregation which potentially would be without a synagogue in the future.
The Synagogue desperately and urgently needs the community to sign our petition at www.sos-trs.org and needs generous financial donations to pay for the large legal cost involved.
Your urgently needed generous donation will enable our expert trial attorney Eric H. Zagrans Esq. to continue fighting for our appeal in the Court of Appeals of Ohio Eighth District Case No. CA24113534: https//www.oztrs.org/payment.php
May G-d Bless you and your family immensely in the merit of signing the petition and your financial contribution!
P.S. Please, be advised: change.org is not connected to the Taylor Road Synagogue, and when donations are made through change.org, the synagogue does not receive the money. Such donations only go towards spreading the petition to other change.org viewers.
