Return Our Father's Remains to His Rightful Family

Return Our Father's Remains to His Rightful Family
The Issue
Our family has been dealing with a heartbreaking situation. After the passing of our beloved father, his ashes were left in the care of our late stepmother. She had plans to spread his ashes against our wishes. And then she passed away. Now, her sister Nancy North possesses these remains and refuses to return them to us, despite clear evidence of our father's wishes.
Our father was a loving man who always prioritized family above all else. He expressed his desire for his remains to stay within the family in conversations with us before he passed away. We have tried numerous times to communicate this wish to Nancy North, but she has blocked all attempts at communication.
We are not alone in this struggle; many families face similar issues after losing loved ones. According to a survey by the Funeral Consumers Alliance and Consumer Federation of America, 62% of respondents wanted their ashes kept by family or friends (Funeral Consumers Alliance & Consumer Federation of America, 2015). This statistic underscores how important it is for families like ours that final wishes be respected.
We urge everyone who reads this petition not only as an appeal for justice but also as a plea from two siblings longing for closure and peace after their father's death. Please support us in convincing Nancy North that our father’s remains belong home with his family where they can be honored properly according to his expressed desires.
Please sign this petition and help bring our Father home where he belongs.
