Return High School Graduation to the Original, Larger Convention Center

Return High School Graduation to the Original, Larger Convention Center
The Issue
To our school administration, we—the senior students of Pine Bluff High School —come forward to address an issue that deeply concerns us. We are reaching out to the community of Pine Bluff. As a crucial milestone in our lives, graduation holds immense symbolic value. The venue where this ceremony is traditionally held—the convention center—allows us to celebrate our hard-earned achievement adequately with our extensive family circles. However, under the current proposition, the graduation ceremony's allocated venue presents a limitation—only 10 tickets per student. For many of us, this means choosing who can share our special day and who is left out, an incredibly heart-wrenching decision nobody should have to make.
We believe that our desires mirror those of graduating classes across the nation. In a recent study by Associations Now, it was noted that 75% of students prefer larger venues for graduation to facilitate the inclusion of their whole family. The tradition of graduation is about more than just recognizing academic achievement. It's a communal celebration, a family event, and an opportunity for us to showcase our accomplishments proudly to our loved ones. The proposed smaller location does not allow for this inclusivity. For these reasons, we appeal to you for your understanding and assistance. By returning to the original convention center for our graduation ceremony, we can ensure that this momentous occasion is celebrated as it should be – surrounded by the support and love from all our family and friends. Please support our cause by agreeing to enhance our graduation experience. Sign our petition to bring back the tradition and the joy of graduation day.
