Our coast is already threatened by overdevelopment and abusive use to the detriment of normal citizens who are being deprived of their legal right. Another public beach, which site is a popular swimming area frequented by both locals and tourists alike, is being threatened with the proposal for the installation of 3 single point moorings and a floating pontoon at the beach right below the BeefBar at Dawret il-Gzejjer in St. Paul’s Bay as per PA/06823/21.

This is definitely unacceptable due to a number of factors including:

1. Runs counter to the Northwest Local Plan
2.  In breach of the Strategic Plan for Environment and Development
3.  The site is a Special Area of Conservation
4.  The site is a popular swimming area frequented by both locals and  tourists alike including the undersigned.
5.   The Bugibba quay is a mere 200 meters away which quay is presently being upgraded including to take more berthing.

In view of the above, we, the undersigned, object to such a proposal in front  of the Planning Authority and appeal for a refusal.
