The Issue

The house beside mine has too many vehicles for the size of their driveway. They are constantly using my driveway to enter and exit, and also park on the road when they can't enter due to my car being in my driveway. When they park on the road, they park on a blind corner directly in front of my house, limiting me from exiting my driveway. This would pose another issue to the public as well, with people not being able to get out of their driveways because someone is parked opposite, on either side.

Removing parking enforcement in Brampton neighbourhoods could lead to a number of challenging issues. The enforcement currently provides stability and organization on our roads. It ensures that city road maintenance in the winter and summer can proceed without hindrance. The rules help keep inoperative cars that don’t belong in these areas off the roads, preventing them from leaking fluids that could seep into the asphalt, or possibly leach into the environment.

More importantly, enforcing these parking rules is crucial for pedestrian safety, especially on roads without sidewalks. Without these rules, vehicles may park recklessly, creating risks for pedestrians who are forced to navigate around them.

In conclusion, proper parking enforcement is a key component in maintaining the safety, organization, and cleanliness of our Brampton neighbourhoods. Eliminating these regulations would lead to chaos, increased hazards and environmental concerns, which the city and its residents should strive to avoid at all costs.

Please sign this petition to urge city officials to retain parking enforcement in our neighbourhoods and continue ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
