As executive committee and board members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Michigan State University Chapter and The Black Students' Alliance, we are deeply committed to the safety, equity, and well-being of all students on our campus. This includes our marginalized communities, supported by Chairwoman Rema Vassar and Trustee Denno on the Board of Trustees at Michigan State University. Their unwavering support for the Black community has been a beacon of hope in challenging times.

Chair Vassar's tenure as chairwoman has been marked by her dedication to inclusivity and student welfare. At the same time, Trustee Denno's service on the board has consistently prioritized student voices - particularly those from underrepresented groups.

Their removal from the Board would not only be a loss for us but also send a disheartening message about how much this university values its students' diverse experiences and perspectives.

We urge you to consider their significant contributions when making decisions impacting our campus. One day, we want to confidently say that Michigan State University truly cares about its students.
