Restrict the Sale and Use of Fireworks to Protect Animals

Restrict the Sale and Use of Fireworks to Protect Animals
The Issue
As a concerned pet owner, I have personally witnessed the traumatic effects of fireworks on animals. Each year, the celebrations around Halloween and the 5th of November continue to escalate, increasing the noise, chaos, and subsequent fear experienced by our beloved pets. In my community alone, I have seen terrified dogs and cats, some even bolting in fear, while owners helplessly watch their pets endure unnecessary distress.
Recent reports have confirmed that an animal sadly died as a direct result of the fear induced by nearby firework displays. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to protect animals against this avoidable harm.
It's high time we implement change. We should restrict the sale of fireworks, especially to teenagers, and promote the idea of silent fireworks. This would not only be beneficial for the animals but also ensure the peace of our neighborhoods. Organized, designated displays could replace sporadic, loud fireworks that cause disturbance and stress on a large scale.
Our animals don't have a voice. It's up to us to take a stand and say enough is enough. Every animal deserves to feel safe in its own home and environment. Let's work together to implement a change that will respect the wellbeing of our pets and give us, their carers, peace of mind.
Please sign this petition to help protect our pets and bring about much-needed change in our community.
