I’m starting this petition because our street is just too narrow for cars to be parked on both sides at the same time. Whenever people park across from each other, it leaves a tiny, tight squeeze in the middle of the road. It’s becoming a real safety issue. If a fire truck or an ambulance ever needs to get down our street in a hurry, they are going to get completely stuck. We don't want to get rid of parking completely. We just want the county/VDOT to make it one-side-only parking. This keeps the road safe and open for emergency vehicles, gives everyone a clear lane to drive through, and still leaves plenty of street parking on the other side of the road.
