To the Steering Committee of the Troy Now Initiative:

I support the application from The Friends of the Poestenkill Gorge to restore the glory of Troy's most stunning and unique natural feature! 

I am excited about many of the plan's components, such as:

• Creating safe pedestrian access to the Gorge on Linden Avenue, up from Spring Avenue and down from Pawling Avenue - with crosswalks and speed humps
• Making substantial trail improvements, including widening the trail for handicap accessibility 
• Repairing and revitalizing the Teaching/Gathering Area and Information Kiosk
• Building 2 new overlooks, including a 20' large platform at the end of the trail
• Developing the signage that guides visitors on the geological & cultural histories of the Gorge, as well as the wildlife that frequents it
• Protecting and caring for the existing native hardwoods, adding some, and planting a pollinator meadow
• and more!
