Restore the Federal Medical Centre project in Rigasa

Restore the Federal Medical Centre project in Rigasa
The Issue
The people of Rigasa in Kaduna State, Nigeria, are calling for justice and healthcare equity. With over 2 million residents, Rigasa stands as one of the largest communities in Kaduna State, yet it is glaringly underserved in terms of healthcare facilities. A substantial number of people are forced to seek medical attention in clinics and hospitals located far from their reach, risking their health and safety in the process.
In 2019, Senator Uba Sani then representing Kaduna Central championed a bill to establish a much needed Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Rigasa. The bill successfully navigated all three readings in the Senate, highlighting the Senate's acknowledgment of the dire healthcare needs in our community. Unfortunately, despite this positive momentum, the bill was stalled and later moved to another location, depriving Rigasa of its rightful healthcare facility.
Our community feels marginalized and neglected. The establishment of this FMC was not just a political promise but a beacon of hope for improved healthcare access and services in Rigasa. The transfer of this project elsewhere undermines the faith of millions in the governance structures meant to represent them. We remind the Nigerian Senate and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria of the initial intent and moral obligation to prioritize the healthcare needs of Rigasa.
Rigasa possesses the population density and the pressing need to justify the establishment of the FMC. Healthcare is not a luxury but a fundamental right, and it is imperative for the well-being of every Nigerian.
We fervently request the immediate restoration of the Federal Medical Centre project to Rigasa. Doing so will not only rectify the oversight but will also stand as a testament to the commitment of our government to its promises and its people.
Join us in our fight for healthcare justice. Sign this petition to urge the Nigerian Senate and the President to bring the Federal Medical Centre back to Rigasa where it is desperately needed. Let your voice contribute to the cause of ensuring every citizen's right to healthcare is upheld. Please sign and share our petition widely.
