The Issue

In the heart of Chillicothe, Illinois, stands a building that holds untapped potential for transformation and healing. My journey with Jesus has led me to a profound realization: just as He left the ninety-nine to save me, I am called to create a space where others can experience this same transformative love.

For years, the Assembly of God building has been a beacon in our community. However, it now sits unused in an area that deeply needs restoration and hope. My vision is to repurpose this building as a sanctuary of healing, where people from all walks of life find solace, connection, and love—free from the constraints of religion and denomination. People in crisis, seekers of truth, or anyone needing a listening ear will be welcomed with open arms.

The potential of this project lies not only in the physical restoration of the building but also in its symbolic rebirth. It can become a center for community gatherings, offering workshops on restoration, classes on practical life skills, spiritual guidance, and actions that encourage healing and personal growth. It will aim to cultivate an environment built on principles of love and acceptance, echoing Jesus' teachings.

Statistics from Pew Research indicate that a significant number of individuals in small communities like ours can benefit from support systems such as this proposed center. The National Institutes of Health also highlight the positive impact of communal spaces in reducing stress and fostering mental well-being.

To make this dream a reality, I am appealing to the leadership of the Assembly of God to consider gifting this building back to God and the community of Chillicothe. By doing so, we can embark on a journey of revival, allowing this space to minister once again to neighbors who need it most.

I invite the people of Chillicothe and all those who believe in the power of love, unity, and healing to stand with me in this mission. Together, we can rejuvenate not just a building, but an entire community in need. Sign this petition to lend your voice to a cause that promises love, hope, and renewal for all."
