Restore the Bus Stop at 27th Avenue & 8th Street in Astoria

Restore the Bus Stop at 27th Avenue & 8th Street in Astoria
The Issue
Petition to Restore the Bus Stop at 27th Avenue & 8th Street in Astoria, Queens
The MTA recently removed the bus stop at 27th Avenue and 8th Street in Astoria, Queens (served by the B62, Q18, Q103, and Q19). This change has created serious difficulties for residents.
Both the stop before and after are located at the bottom of a very steep hill. Seniors, people with disabilities, and others with limited mobility are now forced to walk up or down this hill, which is extremely unsafe given the broken sidewalks and steep incline.
Without this stop, many neighbors are effectively cut off from safe access to public transit. This is an ADA accessibility issue and unfairly impacts some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
We, the undersigned, call on the MTA to immediately restore the bus stop at 27th Avenue and 8th Street to ensure equal, safe, and fair access to public transportation for everyone in Astoria.
