The issue

I am fortunate to live next door to a space that once served as a beautiful duck pond, bringing joy to our community and offering a tranquil spot for locals to enjoy nature. Sadly, this picturesque setting has been neglected, and its current state is heartbreaking. What was a thriving pond is now a bed of reeds overrun with leeches, as observed by the council gardener, causing local residents to steer clear. Moreover, the presence of brown snakes adds to safety concerns, deterring people from visiting.

The transformation of our beloved duck pond is urgent and necessary. It should be restored to its original state to serve as a safe, inviting environment for community gatherings and leisurely walks. The neglect of such a space denies residents, including myself, the natural beauty and relaxation it once provided. Our community deserves better, and we must band together to ensure this invaluable part of our local park is revitalized.

We propose a collaborative effort between the local council, community members, and environmental organizations to tackle this issue. Concrete steps can be taken, such as commissioning experts to clear the reeds, restore the water quality, and ensure the safety of park visitors by controlling the wildlife presence.

We need your support to bring this valuable asset back to life. Please sign this petition to encourage our council to take immediate action and restore our community duck pond. Together, we can make a difference and once again enjoy the serene beauty this park has to offer.
