During the April 5, 2025, Breakthrough Prize ceremony — often referred to as the “Oscars of Science” — actor and comedian Seth Rogen delivered pointed remarks criticizing President Trump’s and RFK Jr's science policies and the support he received from prominent tech figures.

“It’s amazing that others in this room underwrote electing a man who, in the last week, single-handedly destroyed all of American science,” Mr. Rogen said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rogen highlighted concerns about the administration’s impact on American science, referencing the significant financial backing Trump received and the appointment of controversial figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

However, these comments were later edited out of the official event footage released by the Breakthrough Prize Foundation on Youtube.

The foundation cited time constraints as the reason for the edits. On Youtube?

We urge the Breakthrough Prize Foundation to restore the full, unedited footage of Seth Rogen’s remarks to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the event.

Given the involvement of influential tech leaders in both the event and the political landscape, it’s imperative that such platforms uphold the principles of open dialogue and integrity.
