Restore Rust’s Core: Performance, Anti-Cheat, Survival, Skill, and Fairness

Restore Rust’s Core: Performance, Anti-Cheat, Survival, Skill, and Fairness

The Issue

Rust is one of the greatest survival games ever made because it is brutal, unpredictable, competitive, and player-driven.

But many players feel that Rust has slowly moved away from its core identity. The game is still amazing, but long-standing problems like poor performance, cheaters, reduced survival pressure, weaker skill expression, and large-group advantages are hurting the experience.

This petition is not hate toward Facepunch. We love Rust, and that is exactly why we care.

We are asking Facepunch to focus on Rust’s foundation before adding more major content.

Our main requests:

Prioritize performance and optimization before more major content.
Strengthen anti-cheat and take faster action against cheaters.
Bring back a stronger weapon skill gap, where practice and mastery matter more.
Rework or seriously reconsider Team UI, because it removes fear, confusion, communication pressure, and gives large groups even cleaner coordination.
Balance clans and large groups more fairly without punishing people for playing with friends.
Make transportation harder and more meaningful, so vehicles feel valuable and travel feels risky again.
Add stronger survival systems, where food, water, cold, heat, radiation, darkness, and preparation matter more.
Add more dangerous environmental threats, including stronger AI, animals, night danger, and hostile world events.

Rust should feel dangerous, fair, skill-based, and survival-focused again.

We are not asking Facepunch to stop updating Rust. We are asking them to focus on what made Rust special: performance, fair fights, anti-cheat, survival pressure, meaningful risk, and rewarding skill.

If you agree, please sign and share this petition.

Our goal is to reach enough Rust players that Facepunch notices and opens a serious discussion with the community.
