We the undersigned respectfully request the Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley Weber, Attorney General, Rob Bonta join with Governor Gavin Newsom to conduct an in-depth audit and investigation into the finances of Trinity County California as special interest have seized control of our local government.  

In the past five years millions of dollars have been spent on attorneys, and consultants in a shambling, bumbling and occasionally violent attack on the legal and taxable activities carried out by the cannabis industry resulting in the loss of millions of dollars in tax revenue for the county.  As a result the Board of Supervisors is shuttering our library and animal shelter, social services funding has been pared to the bone and yet many department heads are earning over three times of the median income in Trinity County.  

We would ask the State of California to place Trinity county's finances into a receivership so those making the actual decisions are no longer in a position to profit from them.
