Restore Pennsylvania’s Solar for All Funds Now

Restore Pennsylvania’s Solar for All Funds Now
The Issue
In 2024, Pennsylvania won $156 million in competitive federal funding through the Solar for All program—a Biden-era initiative to help low-income households access solar energy, slash electricity bills, and create good local jobs. But in August 2025, the EPA—under direction from the Trump administration—revoked that funding with no warning, freezing accounts and halting projects that were already underway.
This isn’t just about politics. It’s about real families being denied the chance to lower their monthly energy bills, breathe cleaner air, and benefit from a growing clean energy economy. Over 12,000 Pennsylvania households—many in pollution-burdened communities—were promised solar installations with guaranteed savings. That promise is now in limbo.
Legal experts say the EPA has no authority to claw back these funds. The law clearly states the money was obligated before the deadline. Pennsylvania did everything right. And yet, the communities who need the support most are the ones paying the price for political gamesmanship.
We call on EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to reverse the unlawful decision to rescind Pennsylvania’s Solar for All grant, and we urge Governor Josh Shapiro and Attorney General Dave Sunday to take immediate legal action to protect these funds and the families depending on them.
Pennsylvania ranks 49th in clean energy growth. We can’t afford to fall further behind—especially when hardworking people are struggling just to keep the lights on. This funding belongs to our communities. Let’s fight to keep it where it was always meant to go.
Sign now to demand the restoration of Pennsylvania’s solar grant—and to defend energy justice for all.
