Restore Parking and Joy to Kovachik Blvd, Thornborrow Court and Bergamot Ave in Milton

Restore Parking and Joy to Kovachik Blvd, Thornborrow Court and Bergamot Ave in Milton

The Issue

We, the residents of Kovachik Blvd, Thornborrow Ct, Bergamot Ave, watercress and other adjacent roads of Kovachik Blvd, are deeply concerned about the recent implementation of 'biking lane' and 'no parking' signs across our neighbourhood. These changes have significantly impacted our ability to host family and friends, making it almost impossible for visitors to find parking and enjoy time with us.

Milton has always been known for its welcoming nature and strong community bonds. However, these new parking restrictions are undermining this essence, leaving our streets deserted and devoid of the joyful moments that come from having guests and visitors. The happiness and community spirit we once enjoyed are being eroded by these unjust parking zone allocations.

It is disheartening to see that the city approved the builder's plan to have narrow roads, only to later impose restrictive parking measures once the builder's work was complete. As soon as the construction finished two weeks ago, no parking signs, dedicated bike lanes, and parking time direction boards appeared almost overnight. This feels like a real injustice to homeowners who placed their trust in the city's planning board and authorities.

We urge the city to reconsider these decisions and prioritize the happiness and community bonds of our neighborhood. We propose a compromise: implement no parking signs on one side of the street only, allowing parking on the other side. This approach will ensure that residents and their visitors can enjoy the vibrant, welcoming community Milton is known for.

To petitioners : By signing this petition, you are standing up for our community's right to maintain its joyful, welcoming spirit. Let's urge the city to rethink these parking restrictions and restore the ability for us to connect with our family and friends.

Thank you for your support.
