Our local café is more than just a place to grab a coffee. It’s where friends catch up, families gather, neighbours chat, and visitors stop to enjoy our beautiful coastline. For many of us, sitting in the sunshine with a coffee has become part of our daily routine and one of the things that makes our community so special.

The recent removal of the outdoor seating between the footpath and the sandstone bollards has left many locals disappointed. Those sunny tables were always the first to fill because people loved sitting outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and the relaxed atmosphere. While replacement seating has been provided, it simply doesn’t offer the same experience that so many of us have come to know and love.

The loss of these tables hasn’t just changed the experience for customers—it has also significantly reduced the café’s seating capacity. Fewer seats mean fewer customers can be served, resulting in a loss of business for a local café that has been proudly serving our community for years.

We understand that decisions like this are not made lightly, but we believe this one deserves to be reconsidered. This isn’t just about tables and chairs—it’s about protecting a much-loved community space, supporting a local small business, and preserving the welcoming atmosphere that makes this café such a special part of our neighbourhood.

We’re asking Central Coast Council to listen to the voices of the community and reinstate the outdoor seating to its original location.
