SUNY Polytechnic Institute has recently reduced the hours for the field house and fitness center by a total of 24 LESS HOURS PER WEEK. This audacious reduction in hours is unacceptable and disrespectful to students' time and busy schedules. Many students have classes, work on campus, and have other obligations in the late morning, afternoon, and evenings throughout the week and would rely on last semester's much more convenient hours to go to the fitness center or use the courts in the early morning or later at night.

We pay for access to the field house and fitness center through our tuition and a reduction in hours is an indirect waste of our money. We should not be paying a higher tuition than last semester for less access to amenities such as the field house/fitness center.

If we don't make our voice heard, the school will think it's okay to continue to devalue our tuition by making other amenities less accessible. They already tried to do the same thing by reducing the campus center dining hall hours and we were able to change that with a petition like this one.

Again, I ask you, please sign to reinstate last year's field house/fitness center hours.
