City Manager McLaughlin quietly cancelled the survey of Dinghy Beach without telling the Commission or even having the decency to inform Commissioner Kaufman -who proposed the resolution to get the survey as a first step to finally, after over two years, resolve the issue.

This is the second time the Manager McLaughlin has delayed the progress to remove the illegal, unpermitted fence placed by Robert Spottswood/Marriott Beachside management, the first time being after Commissioner Kaufman's resolution first came about and her office was tasked by the Commission, McLaughlin's office purposefully requested the surveyor to not do the survey and find a way to get around doing it at all. Incompetence or corruption?

This second purposeful delay begs the questions - for whom is the City Manager working? Entitled Robert Spottswood or the People of the City of Key West? Why can't she do her job and follow through with getting the survey needed to get this issue resolved?

We await her answer...
