During a meeting today with the Mayor, Asst. City Manager and me, the City Manager decided to get back on track towards getting a bathymetric survey to Restore Dinghy Beach again! The City Manager's office agreed to looking for a surveyor out-of-town so no conflict of interest will arise and the Mayor promised that the City Commission will address the issue regularly at upcoming meetings so the public has transparency and stays informed. The Mayor and Manager/Asst. Manager also saw that the Marriott Beachside acknowledged in their 2005 landscaping permit application to the City that legal beach access was respected since before the current property was built and Robert Spottswood and Marriott Beachside management can no longer claim that they thought the property was theirs all along.
