The issue

Bundegi Beach and Boat Ramp hold immense significance for our community, serving as vital recreational spaces for both locals and visitors of Exmouth, Western Australia. These areas provide a safe haven for families to gather, offering the perfect setting for teaching children to swim and snorkel. Bundegi is not just a place for fun; it's the only beach in the area that remains accessible to swim regardless of the tide, making it invaluable for our community.

Moreover, Bundegi's boat ramp is crucial for marine traffic. With the existing boat ramps already under considerable pressure due to high traffic volumes, every additional site like Bundegi is essential for the smooth operations of boating and other maritime activities. Furthermore, Bundegi Beach stands out as the region's only wheelchair-accessible beach, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the ocean's beauty.

Unfortunately, recent unexplained changes have restricted access to this cherished location, greatly impacting our community's ability to enjoy these vital recreational activities. These restrictions not only impede our lifestyle but also affect local tourism, consequently impacting the region's economy. Many locals and visitors have fond memories made in this area and would be devastated to have this area taken away from them for creating more memories into the future.

We urge local authorities to engage with the community and explore effective solutions that ensure Bundegi Beach and Boat Ramp remain accessible to all. By restoring access, we can preserve Bundegi Beach's role as a cornerstone of community life, a hub for leisure, and an economic asset supporting tourism.

Please join us in advocating for the restoration of full community access to Bundegi Beach and Boat Ramp. Together, we can make a difference and keep this beloved spot open for everyone. Sign the petition today to show your support.
