Respect the People’s Mandate: Appoint V.D. Satheesan as Chief Minister of Kerala

The Issue

To the Congress High Command, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji, and Shri Rahul Gandhi ji,

The people of Kerala have spoken. On May 4, 2026, the state witnessed a historic political shift. After a decade of LDF rule, the United Democratic Front (UDF) achieved a landslide victory, securing 102 seats in the 140-member Assembly. This "UDF Tsunami" was not an accident—it was the result of a tireless, unified campaign led from the front by V.D. Satheesan.

The Architect of Victory

When the UDF was at its lowest, V.D. Satheesan took the mantle of Leader of the Opposition and transformed the alliance into a formidable "Team UDF." He didn't just lead; he inspired. He boldly predicted a 100+ seat victory when others were hesitant, even vowing to retire from politics if he failed to deliver. Today, that prediction is Kerala's reality.

The Public Choice

Beyond the numbers, there is a clear public sentiment. Across the tea shops of Kottayam, the streets of Kochi, and the hills of Wayanad, the voice is the same: Kerala wants V.D. Satheesan as Chief Minister.

Proven Leadership: He dismantled long-standing Left strongholds through strategic planning and unity.

The Secular Shield: He stood as a firm wall against communal politics, earning the trust of all communities.

A New Vision: His "Kerala Model 2.0" focuses on youth employment, transparent governance, and social justice.

Our Request

We, the undersigned citizens of Kerala and supporters of the Congress worldwide, urge the High Command to acknowledge the ground reality. While we respect the party’s internal democratic processes, we believe that appointing V.D. Satheesan as the Chief Minister is the only way to honor the mandate given by the people.

Kerala has voted for change, for energy, and for the leadership of V.D. Satheesan. We ask you to let the man who won the battle lead the state.
