Like many of you, I am deeply outraged and heartbroken by the drastic and troubling changes happening at Reskin School. My children previously attended Reskin and are now at Marquardt, but I still feel a strong connection to our former school—and it’s devastating to see what’s unfolding.

Reskin School is losing dedicated, professional teachers at an alarming rate. Many are being laid off, while others are resigning under impossible workloads and unrealistic expectations—all while being offered no additional compensation or support. Just recently, both the principal and assistant principal resigned. The school is now left without stable leadership, and the staff morale is at an all-time low.

The ones who will suffer the most from this disarray are our children.

This isn’t just a Reskin problem—it’s a District 15 problem. The current administration is driving our schools into decline with mass layoffs and poor leadership decisions. We cannot stand by and watch our schools crumble. As a last resort, I am seriously considering homeschooling my children if things continue down this path.

We need to come together as parents, as a community, and demand accountability. This leadership is failing us. We need change—and we need it now.
