Resignation of Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, and Janisse Quiñones.

The Issue

This petition carries a profound, personal resonance – a devastation shared by many of my loves ones who have experienced the loss of homes and local businesses. We're witnessing the catastrophic aftermath of what we believe stems from the poor management of environmental safety measures by high-ranking officials, Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor, Karen Bass and Janisse Quiñones
Chief Executive Officer and Chief EngineerJanisse Quiñones is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the nation’s largest publicly-owned utility.
The number of wildfires has dramatically increased in the past few years, resulting in immeasurable damages. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, approximately 10,488 incidents were recorded last year alone, leading to the destruction of 4,927 structures and sadly, the loss of 33 lives (Source: Cal Fire 2020). The State of California deserves a committed governance that prioritizes public safety and institutes relentlessly-proactive measures for the mitigation of territorial wildfires. Today, we're seeking the resignation of Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass. Their time in office has been marked by a discernible escalation in the frequency and intensity of wildfires, inciting urgent questions about their management capacities and failure to safeguard our local communities. It's time we insist on leaders who'll commit to effective emergency management systems and environmental rehabilitation efforts. Let our voices bring about change. Please sign this petition and pass it on!
