Factory Buses (Bas Kilang) Encroachment of Residential Area surrounding Hilir & Persiaran Paya Terubong 1, 4 & 5 fronting all landed homes, Victoria Heights, Vista Jambul and Sierra East Condo in Relau area of Bayan Lepas, Penang Island.

Environment and Social Issues Impacting Local Residents are:

1) Noise Pollution as early as 430am from the factory buses’ revving of engines, incessant honking  and extreme disruptive engine noise output.

This severe noise intrusion could be heard from the balconies of all Sierra East Condo units at Block 6 all the way to their front doors on all floors!

Landed properties’ owners and families face loud deafening engine noises and gear shifts everyday in the early morning and evening right at their front doors, living rooms and bedrooms.

For impacted Vista Jambul owners, the starting and revving of the Diesel engines of the buses and the cars and motorcycles the drivers drive in are right at the kitchens and bedrooms, creating a dreadful feeling of living right next to a massive illegal bus depot and workshop.

2) Air Pollution - Toxic fume exhaust emissions discharging from the bus Diesel engine poisoning other road users especially motorcyclists, pedestrians and residents inside of their homes daily.

All 3/4 kindergartens along Persiaran Paya Terubong  5 are compelled to operate in an extremely unhealthy and dangerous environment due to the presence of all these bas kilang.

The toxic fumes are entering the homes of Sierra East Condo residents, 3 levels of car park area and Facilities Floor on Level 1.

Vista Jambul and all landed properties here are not able to open their windows and doors once the bas Kilang start driving in or out.

A Mental and Physical Torture that all residents here have to endure daily!

3) Property Value Depreciation of all landed properties, Vista Jambul and Sierra East Condo due to the encroachment of surrounding access roads by the factory buses - hence no new buyer for any owner who wants to sell off (even at a loss) so as to leave this area permanently.

The rest can only suffered in silence without seeing any light of the tunnel for this predicament!

4) Traffic Congestion & Road Bullying Behaviour by the factory buses with unreasonable and unnecessary honking of other vehicles, rampant ad-hoc stopping to drop off and pick-up of factory workers, driving in the middle of 2 lanes and blocking other vehicles so as to turn at corners not designed and constructed for long vehicles. 

5) Serious Road Hazard by stopping and obscuring clear view of road users and pedestrians - caused multiple road accidents as reported by many residents here! 

6) Severe disruption and nuisance to the daily lives and well-being of all landed homes’ residents and kindergartens in this area.

WE DESERVE AND DEMAND FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR FAMILIES!

WE DESERVE CLEAN & FRESH AIR WITHOUT TOXIC DIESEL EXHAUST EMISSIONS CREEPING INTO OUR HOMES!

WE DO NOT WANT OUR HOMES TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ILLEGAL BUS DEPOT!

WE WANT A TRULY CLEAN & GREEN PENANG!
