Reduce the speed to 20MPH on The Drive, Shoreham By Sea.
The Issue
Hello.
I am starting a petition to see who would support me with the speeding issue on The Drive. It terrifies me to see so many people driving at such a speed up and down The Drive and I believe that something needs to change. There are many families with young children on The Drive and I would love to see this residential road become a 20MPH zone.
If we can lower the speed to 20MPH, it will become a much safer and enjoyable road for our children. We need to create a safe environment for children who are walking to school and walking for leisure.
I am in contact with WSCC and am waiting to have a meeting with one of their engineers, who will hopefully come to view our road and to look at any possible options. So in the meantime I thought it would be useful to gather support from The Drive residents, to show WSCC this is something that is needed and very much wanted.
Many thanks for your support.
Alison.
