Stop the demolition of 43 Clos Nant Glaswg

Stop the demolition of 43 Clos Nant Glaswg
The Issue
43 Clos Nant Glaswg in Pontprennau is set to be demolished to make a pathway / cycleway from Ty Draw Road. Clos Nant Glaswg and surrounding street Clos Nant Coslech are closed Cul De Sacs. We object for a number of reasons:
- Demolition of a 25 year old house for the purposes of a pathway/ cycleway with no consultation with residents.
- Our street does not lead anywhere - there are no local amenities. It is quicker to walk Ty Draw Road to get to public transport links, shops, the park other key areas.
- There will be access to a narrow road, through which cars travel exceptionally fast. Anyone attempting to use this walkway will be at risk from speeding traffic when they walk through. This is a particular risk to the children in our community.
- There does not appear to have been any consideration of the Crime & Disorder Act reviewing the impact of such areas.
- There are clauses in the deeds of the property that (i) suggest it cannot be sold in relation to affordable housing or (ii) that the hedgerows between the property and road cannot be destroyed (at the specific request of Cardiff Council) and (iii) that hedgerows cannot be destroyed for the purposes of access.
Please note this objection is not linked to the affordable housing being built, but the walkway / cycleway proposed through the destruction of this property.
