            I am writing this letter to inform you of the injustice happening here in our neighborhood of Heartland Pointe. We have been living here for the last 17 years and in a matter of weeks, the manager Shelly McCracken decided to restrict the community from parking on the street. This has forced us to expand our lot and make room to fit the cars in our household. Consequently, those who park on the side of the curb, including visitors, are at risk of getting their car towed. Are we not allowed visitors anymore? It has become like a prison to live here but the only difference is that prisoners are still allowed, visitors. We have had instances where it is two in the morning and cars in our driveway are being hooked onto tow trucks and being taken away without any warning. In the lease, nothing states that we cannot leave our cars on the street so why is it a problem now. In the last couple of weeks, we have dealt with so much distress from not only this new “rule” but also the tow company. We have been threatened and taken advantage of and we are done letting this happen.  We are reaching out to get this matter taking care of….  

            In the following, we have collected names of residents to petition against Shelly and the Towing company:

Les escribo esta carta para informarles de la injusticia que está ocurriendo aquí en nuestro vecindario de Heartland Pointe. Hemos estado viviendo aquí durante los últimos 17 años y en cuestión de semanas, la gerente Shelly McCracken decidió restringir el estacionamiento de la comunidad en la calle. Esto nos ha obligado a ampliar nuestro lote y hacer espacio para los coches de nuestra casa. En consecuencia, quienes se estacionan al costado de la acera, incluidos los visitantes, corren el riesgo de que les remolquen el automóvil. ¿Ya no se nos permiten visitas? Se ha convertido en una prisión para vivir aquí, pero la única diferencia es que presos todavía se les permiten visitantes. Hemos tenido casos en los que son las dos de la mañana y los autos en nuestro camino de entrada están siendo enganchados a grúas y se los llevan sin previo aviso. En el contrato de arrendamiento, nada dice que no podemos dejar nuestros autos en la calle, entonces, ¿por qué es un problema ahora? En las últimas semanas, hemos lidiado con tanta angustia no solo por esta nueva “regla” sino también por la compañía de remolque. Nos han amenazado y se han aprovechado de nosotros y hemos dejado de permitir que esto suceda. Nos estamos acercando para solucionar este asunto….
