Say NO to Critical Race Theory (CRT)

In response to several questions about Critical Race Theory (CRT) and other controversial curriculum, the Glendora Unified School District (GUSD) sent out a letter on July 26, 2021 stating that, “whenever a potentially controversial topic is part of a unit of studies, families will be notified in advance and given the opportunity to review the content of the unit.”

Let's hold them to this standard, and make sure the GUSD School Board, and Superintendent DO NOT allow any CRT into the Glendora Unified School District.

The Californians for Equal Rights Foundation (CFER) found that several school districts across our state already have CRT-infused programs that are going under other CRT narratives like, "Ethnic Studies" and "Ethnic Literature". It is important to note that in March of 2021, the State of California adopted an Ethnic Studies Curriculum as a model for consideration in high schools across the state. The curriculum was developed by educators, students, and other leaders following a legal mandate to do so in 2016.

GUSD's letter to our community states, "at this time, there is no mandatory graduation requirement in California or GUSD requiring an Ethnic Studies course, nor is there an elective course or other Ethnic Studies course adopted or implemented in GUSD. It is important to note, however, that legislation to mandate an ethnic studies graduation requirement, AB101, has made it through the State Assembly Education Committee and is awaiting consideration by the State Assembly. Should ethnic studies become a graduation requirement at some point in the future, GUSD would follow all of the legal and policy guidelines related to this decision..."

By signing this petition you are stating that you are against bringing any CRT  into our GUSD schools.
