Dear MP XXX

STOP THE North Kelvinside and North Woodside PARKING CONTROL IMPLEMENTATION UNTIL IT REPRESENTS THE NEEDS OF LOCAL RESIDENTS

I am a resident in the North Kelvin/North Woodside area. I am requesting that the parking timings be reduced to Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.  

The statutory process carried out by Glasgow City Council is flawed and the hundreds, if not thousands of objections made by post, or in person at the consultation events held within the area, have not been recorded.  

The majority of the area covered by these new hours are residential streets, with thousands of households being affected. Residents will now have to pay to park outside their own home and their visitors charged.
These changes have had very little long term thought or consideration for those living in the area and a blanket policy for such a large area is unacceptable, when the majority of our streets do not have any parking issues!

I have signed the petition at https://tinyurl.com/t23z72 along with over many others in my area, which is more representative of the residents’ requirements. 

The majority of residents feel these measures are clearly a money making exercise.
Another charge for residents, at a time when the cost of living is rising, and council tax increasing yet again! Additionally these measures are restrictive to everyday living and effect the community hugely, in many ways.

We need controls that are fit for purpose and don’t penalise those living in our area, or our local business, our places of worship, our schools or our visitors. 

THIS SCHEME HAS NOT FOLLOWED THE STATUTORY PROCESS AND HAS FAILED TO FULLY CONSULT LOCAL RESIDENTS AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE NULLIFIED PENDING INVESTIGATION.
