Dear Concerned Resident
Firstly, thank you so much for making your voice heard and for signing the petition to reduce the proposed parking restrictions in the local area.
As you will be aware, Glasgow City Council have continued to ignore our objections and requests, and so it is time to make our voices heard even louder and we propose doing that by all individually e-mailing the Council officials who make the decisions.
We have prepared a draft e-mail, found below, with everyone's e-mail addresses included to make it straightforward for you to make your voice heard - just copy and paste to a new email, delete the information as appropriate to your concerns and then press send - simple!
It is important that the Council know how many people are truly concerned about these restrictions and thousands of e-mails coming in their direction will make us even harder to ignore.
Thank you again for fighting to make our community heard.

DEMAND A STOP TO THE NKNW PARKING CONTROL IMPLEMENTATION UNTIL IT REPRESENTS THE NEEDS OF LOCAL RESIDENTS

I am a resident in the North Kelvin/North Woodside area residing at (insert your home address here). I made a formal objection during the consultation process in person/by letter (delete as appropriate) during the consultation period requesting that the timings be reduced to Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. The statutory process carried out by Glasgow City Council is flawed and the hundreds, if not thousands of objections made by post, or in person at the consultation events held within the area, have not been recorded. I have signed the petition at https://tinyurl.com/t23z72 along with many others in my area, which is more representative of the residents’ requirements. Please see below for actions:
(feel free to amend and insert your own to the list below)
I demand that an immediate investigation be instigated into reviewing the flawed consultation process; a process which began at a time of worry due to the imminent pandemic and continued into lockdown in March 2020.
I demand that a review of the scheme be undertaken to align the NKNW parking zone to the majority of adjacent zones which are from 8am to 6pm (Mon-Fri/Sat) and not align with the Belmont zone (which is the smallest zone within the Glasgow boundary).
The statutory process is flawed and therefore should be nullified. It is unacceptable to state that the process is complete and therefore cannot be changed. Changes are already being made prior to implementation ie the moving of marked bays from one side of the road to the other at Kelvinside Terrace West/South. This is not a stand-alone change, but an example of how things can be amended.
I demand that the proposed one-way systems be scrutinised and revised with due care and attention paid to the safety of road users. For example, on Kelvinside Gardens, the one-way system flows uphill against the natural flow of the already unofficial one-way system at drop-off and pick up at St Charles’ Primary School. Children will now have to exit vehicles onto the road and into traffic or cross the road into traffic to get to school. School bus doors are on the left-hand side of the bus, again dropping children off on the pavement opposite the school gate and forcing them to cross the busy road to get to school. Vehicles have difficulty transgressing the corner heading uphill at Kelvinside Gardens East when the weather is snowy or icy. This is a health and safety risk and is well known.
We need controls that are fit for purpose and don’t penalise those living in our area, or our local business, our places of worship, our schools or our visitors. THIS SCHEME HAS NOT FOLLOWED THE STATUTORY PROCESS AND HAS FAILED TO FULLY CONSULT LOCAL RESIDENTS AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE NULLIFIED PENDING INVESTIGATION.
Yours faithfully
