We the citizens of Enfield call for the immediate end to the injection of personal religious beliefs as a means to influence policy.  We ask for an unbiased Board of Education that want to “make a difference in Enfield - every child, every day”! Ms Cushman, a current BOE member, repeatedly refers to her religious beliefs when speaking about policy at BOE meetings and this needs to stop immediately. **See below links for information on specific beliefs.**

The disinformation and biased views from BOE member Janet Cushman are dangerous to our community and most importantly to the “welfare of the students” as outlined in the BOE policies.  These same set of policies as well as the Enfield motto is to "give all the children of the town as nearly equal advantages as practical”; “We make a difference in Enfield, Every Child Every Day”.  It is clear that Ms Cushman is not following the instruction of this policy when using her own personal religious beliefs to influence discussion by saying for example that “75% of kids “grow out of gender dysphoria".  Scientific and Medical Research strongly suggest otherwise. She is actively attacking our non cisgender students . The irony is that she is critical of teachers when her perception is that they have somehow violated a rule.  

Those signing this petition call for Ms Cushmans resignation or removal from the Enfield Board of Education for her inability to remain unbiased when making suggestions influencing policy, discussing the curriculum as well as her lack of care for ALL students in the district.
